Gerald Mehm

Jerry is a senior managing director in the financial valuation practice. He has more than 35 years of experience in the valuation of closely held business enterprises, intangible assets and intellectual property, and nonpublicly traded securities.

He performs valuations for business transactions, litigation, financial reporting, and tax purposes of enterprises ranging in size and complexity from entrepreneurial, high-tech start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.  He specializes in the valuation of intellectual property for financial reporting purposes.

Jerry is a leader in identifying emerging valuation issues and developing appropriate analytical techniques.  He maintains awareness of the accounting, financial, and tax context of the valuation, an understanding of the key value drivers of a business and the ability to translate valuation conclusions into sound business strategies.

Jerry joined American Appraisal in 1997.  Prior to joining American Appraisal, he served as a partner at Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P. for more than 14 years.  Previously, he was an assistant civil engineer for two major electric utility companies.
