John is a director for the industrial valuation practice. He specializes in the appraisal of personal property and improvements to leased property. He has completed valuations for ad valorem tax, allocation of purchase price, economic life studies, export certification, financing arrangements, insurance, and mergers and acquisitions.

John has extensive experience in valuing the equipment used in the mineral extraction and processing and general construction industries.  He has valued assets used in coal mining operations, hard rock mining, road construction, quarrying, and similar operations, and has valued mining assets in the precious metals, industrial and mineral fuels sectors.  

John has also valued oil and gas gathering and transportation systems, storage facilities and other production equipment and support equipment. His oil and gas industry experience includes production and midstream assets.

John has performed complex appraisal assignments throughout the world and has valued assets in many foreign locations.  He has served corporate clients in North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

John joined American Appraisal in 1996 as an associate appraiser in the fixed asset management and insurance practice. He joined the industrial valuation practice in 2000 and has been in his current position since 2008.  Prior to joining American Appraisal, he was employed at Global Access, an export management firm.
