Michael is a director in our financial valuation practice.  He has performed valuation analyses of businesses in a variety of industries and for various purposes, including financial reporting (business combinations, IFRS/ASPE adoption and impairment testing), tax planning, acquisition and divestiture, shareholder buyout, sale and leaseback.

Additionally, Michael has valued various intangible assets including brand names, proprietary technology, customer relationships/contracts, order backlog, noncompetition agreements, leasehold interests, options to purchase land and other intangible assets, both separately and within the context of a purchase price allocation.

Michael joined American Appraisal in 2002.  He was previously employed in the roles of investment analyst and controller. As an advisor to an investment consulting firm, Michael prepared reports on individual companies held in the mid-cap and small-company funds of a Canadian mutual fund manager.  He also conducted investment manager searches for Canadian, US, and international equity mandates.
