Paul Hartnett

Paul is the managing director of US operations. He manages all of the US consulting, business development and marketing activities, including nine regional consulting offices.

Paul has been involved in numerous property management diagnostic consulting engagements and insurance appraisal projects.  Recently, he has worked with publicly traded companies and their independent auditors on capital asset inventory and financial reconciliation engagements to support compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Paul joined American Appraisal in 2000.  Prior to joining American Appraisal, he led the public service assurance and consulting practice in KPMG’s Milwaukee office.  Paul is a certified public accountant and has extensive experience in providing assurance and consulting services to publicly traded companies, large manufacturers, insurance companies, healthcare organizations, government entities, and colleges and universities.

Speeches and Publications

Paul has made numerous presentations on the implementation of various Statements of Financial Accounting Standards and property insurance appraisal standards. He authored the white paper “Consulting Services to Assist Organizations in their Assessment of the Internal Control Over Financial Reporting of Fixed Asset Accounts in Compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act” and has contributed to National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) publications.
