Tony is director of asset and risk appraisal. He is regarded as one of the world’s leading specialists in his field, with 45 years of experience in the insurance, asset appraisal, risk management and construction sectors.
Tony has been involved in appraisal work for a wide variety of purposes including insurance, asset management, M & A, disposals to sequestration, privatisation and corporate governance. His team is responsible for the delivery of asset and risk appraisal services, including business risks, asset management, planned maintenance and procurement.
Tony’s principal focus is on serving members of the London insurance market and their global partners, specifically in the Middle East and Asia, where he worked for a number of years. Tony is also involved in providing business risk appraisals to large multinationals and utilities and tailoring asset appraisal audits to allow organisations to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and IAS 16.
In addition, Tony is responsible for the preparation of presentations, proposals, marketing material and participation at conferences, including operating exhibition stands, organising speakers, or speaking himself. Tony regularly provides articles to professional publications in the insurance, risk and construction spheres.
Tony joined American Appraisal in 2008. He started his career in 1966 as an underwriter for Sun Alliance Group, and was subsequently involved in sales, marketing, insurance brokerage and client liaison for its global industrial clients. In 1988, Tony decided to focus solely on asset and risk appraisal and joined Edward Rushton, before moving on to Crawford Loss Adjusters in 1996, Currie & Brown in 2000, and EC Harris LLP in 2006.
