Toshio is a senior vice president in charge of business development. He has handled tangible and intangible assets valuation, financial/assets/commercial due diligence assignments and transaction support assignments in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Mainland China, Germany, Hungary, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Philippines, Romania, Russia and South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Toshio joined American Appraisal in 2006.  His prior experience includes:

  • Acting as project manager of the pulp and paper mill dismantling and machinery relocation project (from Ibaraki, Japan, to six mills in Indonesia and China) for SINAR MAS, an Indonesian/Chinese pulp and paper conglomerate. In this capacity, he led and managed the dismantling, relocation and environmental treatment teams of 400 which consisted of six nationalities.
  • Acting as the Japan country manager of AMP Limited, Australia’s largest life insurer and defined contribution pension provider.
  • M&A advisory, principal investments, capital markets, Japanese equity institutional sales and funds management marketing while with The Nikko Securities Co., Ltd., between 1985 and 1999, including a two year secondment to The Blackstone Group L.P. (now the largest private equity firm in the United States) and a three-and-a-half-year assignment with The Nikko Securities (Australia), which he bailed out and headed to become the most profitable overseas subsidiary within Nikko group.
  • Working as a corporate planning staff at Allstate Automobile & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd.
