Umakanta is an associate vice president responsible for the overall project management of financial valuation engagements managed by the Mumbai office. He has managed and executed a range of financial advisory engagements for M&A, accounting, tax reporting and strategic purposes.

Umakanta also has managed valuation assignments such as swap ratio determination, portfolio valuation, enterprise valuation, valuation of financial instruments (such as complex convertible instruments, cross-currency interest rate swaps, options and other hedging instruments), and purchase price allocation and impairment assessment (per IFRS, US GAAP and Indian income tax).

Prior to joining American Appraisal, Umakanta worked with Deloitte and Evalueserve.
