William (Butch) is a managing director of the real estate and related assets practice. He is experienced in the valuation of real estate for allocation of purchase/sale price, impairment, collateral financing, property tax, fair market value studies in use or in exchange, and insurance.

Butch specializes in the valuation of special-purpose industrial properties including aluminum smelters; chemical plants; concrete producers; distilleries; food processing facilities; mining (surface, tunnel, and solution types); printing operations; intergrated and mini steel mills; paper and wood products; pharmaceutical and biotechnology; and textiles.  He has also appraised banks, farms and ranches, movie theaters, restaurants, truck terminals and warehouses.  He has served clients in all 50 US states, the Virgin Islands, Canada, Europe and Asia, and is a certified general appraiser in many US states.

Butch also performs advisory services including appraisal review, bankruptcy and litigation support, appraisal management, market research, condition studies, reserve/capital expenditure requirement studies and offer/option analysis. He has testimony experience in Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

Butch joined American Appraisal in 1989.  Previously, he was employed by Property Management Consultants.
