Yerlan is the director of business development in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. He holds state licenses on valuation activity in the Republic of Kazakhstan and is a member of American Appraisal’s Global Extractive Industries Team.
Prior to joining American Appraisal in 2006, Yerlan spent several years working as general manager for China Oilfield Services Limited (Kazakhstan) LLP (COSL), a company related to China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). He helped found the COSL Kazakhstan office and was responsible for administration, finance, and business development of COSL and CNOOC in Kazakhstan, including marketing, drilling product sales, and services in the oil and gas sector.
From 1996 to 2004, Yerlan held different positions at Baker Hughes, including manager of the Shared Services division, deputy registered manager of the BHSII branch office, and business development manager in Kazakhstan. During his time with Baker Hughes, he dealt with projects involving oil field development/construction, oil resource research, and drilling project development (including assistance with the KPO integrated services tender, TCO Baker Oil Tools tender, AGIP KCO, KPO IS project, AMGG project, KKM project, and KazTransOil Baker Petrolite project).
In addition, Yerlan provided administrative support to Baker Hughes divisions with regard to finance/accounting and legal issues, permissions and certifications, human resource issues, and marketing and sales.
